We are raising funds to bring art to more under-resourced schools in your backyard. We aim to raise $31k for our Art in Action scholarship fund. This fund was established by our founder Judy Sleeth and a core group of passionate parents and docents who taught and volunteered for Art in Action programming in their children’s schools.

The scholarship is open to teachers and principals who do not have Art in Action programming or have a limited arts program and are designated Title 1 or can establish need. They must be committed to working with our staff in implementing our comprehensive/ core subject-integrated visual arts education program in their schools. The year-long scholarship provides grade-level curriculum, art materials, and supplies for all 12 lessons, teacher training, and Art in Action support.

Last year the scholarship served over 496 kids in 18 classrooms, and when we reach our goal to raise $31k during this campaign, we will be able to serve 744 kids in 31 classrooms next school year.

Art in Action lessons encourages students to explore, innovate, take risks by trying new things, and think creatively. The projects enable children to express themselves and strengthen social-emotional skills such as self-confidence, resilience, and self-efficacy, thereby equipping students with tools for developing a solid foundation for academic and professional success.
