Volunteer with Art in Action

Volunteers support Art in Action with an array of critical services necessary to bring arts education to schoolchildren everywhere.

  • art materials being packed

    Art Materials Production

You can literally help get art in the hands of students around the country by helping us organize and pack the materials or art supplies required at Art in Action schools. Volunteers of high school age and above are welcome. Come by yourself, in a group or set up a corporate volunteer event for employees. This is in-person volunteering opportunities, so you must be local to Redwood City, CA.

  • pro bono volunteer helping at home

    Pro Bono Projects

As a growing non-profit, Art in Action relies on Pro Bono support for highly skilled services like accounting, legal, graphic design, database administration, website design, marketing and curriculum development. We work with individuals and organizations who are interested in sharing their skills to help us grow.

  • docent teaching in a classroom

    Docents and School Coordinators

Due to limited financial and volunteer resources, select Art in Action schools often request volunteers from outside their school community to help implement or teach the program. The students these schools serve might not get any art at all if it wasn’t for passionate volunteers.

  • Intern

College students gain valuable work experience in all areas of Art in Action’s organization, including involvement in business operations, fundraising or curriculum development, among others. Art in Action has a robust internship program in the summer and accepts interns throughout the school year as well.

  • Event Committee

Join a fun and devoted group of volunteers to help plan and implement our major annual fundraising event.  We welcome volunteers who know how to throw a party!
