Welcome Mary Carbullido
It is with great pleasure that we welcome Mary Carbullido as the Executive Director of Art in Action. Mary is no stranger to AiA, in fact, she has had many different roles within the organization although never as an employee until now.
“This is truly like coming home for me to be back at Art in Action. I am looking forward to working with the very talented staff, dedicated board of directors, and volunteers. Art and arts education for all is near and dear to my heart. I can’t wait to jump in and contribute to the amazing work we are doing. This is going to be a wonderful journey!”
In 2005, when her eldest son was in kindergarten, Mary became a docent and taught the program to her son’s class. She taught for 11 years through her younger son’s elementary and middle school years and continues to help in AiA classes at Holy Family School in Redwood City. She has also trained other docents, co-chaired our event committee, and served on our board of directors.
It’s fair to say that Mary knows the organization inside and out. In addition to her passion for all things AiA, Mary has experience and expertise in both the education and the non-profit worlds. For the last 7 years, Mary was the director of the San Carlos School District’s SMART-E After School Program. She has also worked as the Director of Gallery Experiences and Museum Operations for the Tech Museum of Innovation and as the Director of Recruitment and Education at the Asian American Donor Program.
