Visual Arts Scholarship Program

AiA

The Art in Action Visual Arts Scholarship Program aims to bring art education to more students. The program makes it affordable for schools to experience a quality art program for a a class. Currently, we do not have any scholarship opportunities available. However, we are always looking for funding to provide teachers and parents with assistance in getting the program started at their school. If you are interested in learning more, please email us or call 650.566.8339 or 1.888.566.1982.

In the meantime, here are other ways to fund the Art in Action Program at your school.

Donors Choose

DonorsChoose.org connects teachers who have approved funding requests that meet eligibility requirements with willing donors. While funding isn’t guaranteed because the donors decide which projects they want to support, nearly 80% of projects requesting under $400 in materials are funded within a few months. To boost your chances of being funded, choose materials that total between $100 and $400. (The lower the project cost, the greater chance it will be funded!); submit projects as soon as possible to prepare for lessons later in the year; submit more than one project at a time.

Community Grants

Many major department stores, supermarkets, national banks, and business chains strongly support the arts and education. Apply for grants at local businesses to support your school’s art program. Some external resources include the following:

Erza Jack Keats Minigrant Program - Offers $500 minigrants to public schools and libraries and their deadline each year is March 15.

Lowe's Toolbox for Education

Target - Bringing Arts into the Schools

Silicon Valley Education Foundation - San Jose, CA schools only

Art Room Aid - An online marketplace where teachers can get support for art supplies.
