Judy Sleeth, Executive Director

Judy Sleeth is the founder and Executive Director of Art in Action. She is responsible for translating the vision of art for all children into the reality of quality programs and well-trained teachers in Art in Action schools. She focuses on managing the organization's overall development, writing and revising lessons, building new programs, and leading the Art in Action team in growth and quality assurance.

A graduate of Oberlin College and the Master in Education program at UCLA, Judy has many years of experience teaching and writing curriculum. Judy founded the Art in Action program when her own children started school, and she has continued to revise and develop new programs for the school and summer programs. She is a docent at the Cantor Art Center and serves on the board of the Peninsula Arts Council. She was named Arts Educator in 2008 by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors. Judy currently teaches art history at Castilleja School in Palo Alto. She loves to travel, garden, and visit museums.
