How to Bring Art in Action to Your School

Getting Started

Starting the Art in Action program at your school is easy, and Art in Action will support you every step of the way. We work directly with a School Coordinator from your school to design and organize your program and get it started. We provide training, materials, and networking opportunities with other educators and schools using the Art in Action Program. We can help you create a rich and rewarding art program at your school.

Step 1: Learn more about Art in Action

  • Explore the Art in Action website to learn about how the program works and how Art in Action can help you enrich the lives of children and adults at your school.
  • Learn why art is important, and how it helps students thrive in school and in life.
  • Request an information packet for your school. Learn how easy and affordable it is to get a great art program into your child’s class.

Step 2: Invite parents, teachers, and administrators to learn about Art in Action

  • Tell parents and teachers about how art will enrich every student's education.
  • Talk to your principal or a PTA/PTO leader about the importance of a quality art education.
  • Encourage your school administrator to visit the Art in Action website, and share with them the Art in Action information packet.
  • Schedule a presentation at your school. Call or email us to arrange that.
  • Learn from others who are using the Art in Action program.

Step 3: Plan how you will introduce Art in Action to the classroom.

  • Identify teachers and parents who are excited about Art in Action.
  • Identify at least one teacher who wants to teach the program the first year.
  • Get advice and support from Art in Action about various ways to get started.
  • Decide how you will introduce the program the first year.
  • Continue to get others excited about the importance of a high quality art program.

Step 4: Order the Art in Action Program.

  • Order the Art in Action Program, including Online Lessons, books, materials, and training.
  • Obtain additional supplies through our store.

Step 5: Launch the Art in Action Program

  • The Program can start at anytime during the school year. Art in Action will train your teachers and parent docents to teach the Art in Action program.
