"Art in Action Supports Homeless Shelter"
Art in Action, in conjunction with the San Mateo Library, will host an event to benefit homeless children from the Shelter Network on March 22, 2006. Families are invited to come and listen to stories, enjoy treats and create a pop up card all centered around the theme of “helping others”. All attendees are requested to bring art books and/or supplies (paint, brushes, paper, markers, watercolors, modeling clay, etc.) to donate to the children who reside at the Shelter. These supplies will help stock the art room at the Shelter.
This is a wonderful opportunity for children to lend a hand and see how they can help children in their community. We encourage families to attend and show your children that everyone can help make their community a better place.
The mission of Art in Action is to provide arts education and experiences to all children. By helping children obtain art materials, we hope to ensure that all kids can experience the joys, wonders and enrichment that visual art can provide.
