Art in Action Receives Grant from The Hurlbut-Johnson Fund
Art in Action, the Bay Area’s leading provider of visual arts programs, has been awarded a $12,500 grant from The Hurlbut-Johnson Fund, an advised fund of Silicon Valley Community Foundation. This grant will enable Art in Action to expand its K-8 programs to 20 Title 1 elementary schools in the Bay Area.
It is due largely to ongoing supporters such as Hurlbut-Johnson that Art in Action has been able to achieve its mission of bringing quality visual arts programs to children in the Bay Area. As a result of this grant, over 3500 children will learn about great artists and will create their own works of art inspired by these artists. The grant will help Art in Action bring learning to life!
Art in Action is a Bay Area nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing visual arts education to the classroom. The Art in Action program enriches the lives of over 21,000 students each year through an engaging, hands-on curriculum that teaches art history, art appreciation, and art techniques. Through the training and support of educators, Art in Action seeks to make visual arts an integral part of every student’s classroom experience.
