Art in Action Receives $25,000 Peninsula Community Foundation Grant
Art in Action, the Bay Area’s leading provider of Visual Art Programs, has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Peninsula Community Foundation. The grant will introduce Art in Action’s Visual Arts program to grades K-2 in low resource schools in San Mateo County.
Judy Sleeth, Executive Director of Art in Action remarked, “The generous support from organizations like Peninsula Community Foundation enable us to bring Visual Art education to students who otherwise would have little access to art. We are grateful for their gift as it will enhance the education of many young students and enrich their lives and learning through art.”
The Art in Action program is a sequential Visual Arts Curriculum based on the Great Masters that teaches art history, art appreciation and art techniques. Art in Action enriches the school experience through engaging, hands-on projects, bringing learning to life. Art in Action provides schools with Visual Arts Curriculum for K-8 grades and summer ARTcamp throughout San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties and currently serves 13,000 K-8 students in over 60 schools.
