Art Shows

Art in Action Art Shows provide children with opportunities to exhibit their artwork in several venues, including schools, libraries and local businesses. Our student artists are always proud to see their art on display in the community.

Summer Art Shows

Art in Action’s annual summer art show, “Celebrate Imagination,” features outstanding artwork created by students at Art in Action schools. Over 1000 pieces of art are displayed in select local libraries during June and July. Art in Action marks the opening of the show by hosting artist receptions in honor of the student artists and their families.

Library Art Shows

Art in Action partners with local public libraries to display student artwork during the school year. School curators select and mount a variety of art projects inspired by Art in Action lessons, highlighting different grade levels each month. Art in Action staff members work closely with children’s librarians to promote books and other reading material aligned with the featured artists and masterpieces. Artwork is on display at local libraries from October through May.

Thanks to a generous grant from The Palo Alto Weekly, Art in Action is providing the visual arts curriculum for k-6 students at Costano School. This month, the East Palo Alto Library is featuring art from Costano first graders.

School Art Shows

Art in Action schools each host an end of the year show featuring artwork that showcases their students’ talent and achievements. Schools can consult Art in Action staff members for suggestions and tips about how to plan and hang their school’s art show.
