Past Events: The Art of Giving

On March 22, Art in Action and the San Mateo public library hosted a special event to enrich the lives of homeless children from The Shelter Network. More than 40 children and their families attended the event, donating hundreds of dollars worth of art supplies and enjoying an afternoon of stories, treats provided by Trader Joe's, and card-making. The Shelter Network also received a $500 check from the San Mateo Arts Commission, a $100 gift certificate from Art in Action, and a $25 gift certificate from Safeway. Thanks to all who made this wonderful event possible, especially Virginia Soletti, the children's librarian at the San Mateo public library.
